Very simple & easy to follow,
An excellent book. My Piano tutor chose this book for me, being in my late 30′s and having no previous experience of music or Piano but just a desire to learn. This book assumes you know nothing so is perfect for the absolute beginner. It quickly builds step by step so that almost straight away you are playing short pieces you recognise and very soon more challenging pieces. My only criticism is that the music pieces are rather old fashioned. Try and get the accompanying CD so that you know exactly how each piece should sound.

|Easy way into playing the piano.,
The author finds a nice balance between theory and practice. I had tried to teach myself for a while, but it hadn’t worked out. I happened to see this book in a music shop, flicked through it and then bought it. Within days I was hooked, and haven’t looked back. Recommended.

|Complete novice is having a ball!,
I knew only that pianos have 88 keys when I started trying to tickle them! This book was one of only a couple available at my nearby bookstore, so I ended up with it by default–and after only a little practice, I hear songs I recognize, more or less! I like the way it is geared to adults and doesn’t talk down to me. I am enjoying myself tremendously thanks to this book!
