Takes the young pianist step-by-step through the earliest stages of piano technique, first with separate hands, then with a sequence of easy pieces for hands together. Part two of the best of piano primers,
Me and My Piano Part Two (II) leads in clear steps to Grade 1. It contains attractive music: nursery rhyme and folk-tunes, Chopsticks, William Tell, the Can-Can, some charming waltzes and duets, limericks and God Save the Queen (for Brownie and Guide Music Badges). It also teaches note-values, rhythms, dynamics and continues to consolidate the material learned in Part I. It is superb for teaching children and adult beginners. Although the print is no longer in ‘glossy’ form, the illustrations are fun. With Part I it can be used instead of or as a lead into Piano Lessons Book 1 by the same authoresses. Piano Lessons Book 1 has clear but faster steps to Grades 1 and 2. Me and My Piano Part I and II and Piano Lessons Book 1 are highly recommended for all beginners and, I think, superior to any other piano primers for adults and children. All three books can be used to teach using an electronic keyboard and is excellent grounding for music theory and for playing other instruments.

|excellent for a beginner,
the book is good value for a beginner. my children are 6 and 8 and enjoy the book. the tunes are very basic, but thats because each page introduces a new note. it is an excellent book for explaining simply in children’s language how to read the notes, and clefs, stave’s.

|Yann Tiersen here I come!,
My 7 year old son and I are learning to play the piano and this book was ordered at the request of our tutor. It’s terrific, very easy to understand (although that might be because our teacher is so good!) and if you’d said to me 6 weeks ago that I would be playing both hands in this short space of time, I would’ve thought you were mad!!!
But I am.
Get the book now!
(I also ordered Book 2 but haven’t opened it yet)
