Great book if you can understand music notes !,
I ordered this book for my 4 year daughter as she she’s got a childs keyboard without a music book. I thought the book would of given us an idea on how to play the piano and to guide us though which keys related to which music notes, however this is not the case. As I have not got a clue on reading music this book didn’t really help us. On a positve note if you understand music notes this book would be great, I suppose I misunderstood the title.

|Go mummy, go!,
My five-and-a-half-year old started private piano classes after we were given an old piano by my inlaws. Neither my husband nor I play, we never had any music classes either. I bought this book along with a few others to get him – and myself – started. The thing is that I absolutely wanted to keep him going! I myself hated those first classes with two or three notes to play and a lot of time keeping, but I got hooked on this book. With a few hints of the piano teacher I can now play two songs already and this after only one month! What is so fabulous is that this does keep my son going, he is eager to hear and watch me learn the songs we both are familiar with and can’t wait to play them too, he soon will! I just love to play a proper song and try extra hard when my son shouts “Go mummy, Go!”

|not bad,
I wouldn’t recommend this book to an absolute beginner, however the tunes in this books are reasonably easy, some more so than others. The degree of difficulty for the left hand varies. Some of the tunes are well known such as “Merrily we roll along”, “What shall we do with the drunken Sailor?” and “We wish you a merry Christmas” but there were many I’d never heard of. I felt some of the tunes were a little bit dull.
