Fantastic keyboard. Very reliable, lightweight and sounds fantastic. Great for learning to play, or with its touch sensitive keys great for a experienced pianist. Midi interaction is amazing sending velocity, highlighting keys in channel 1 played by midi. A fantastic buy, if you want to learn piano, use it for midi or practice at home, get this one!

I got this as my girlfriend wanted to play around with the lighted keys. When the novelty wore off it sat in the corner gathering dust however one day I gave it a dust and started messing around with it. To be honest most of the inbuilt songs are simply too hard for the absolute beginner – instead I would recommend getting a good tutorial book or DVD series.
I hooked this keyboard to the PC using a MIDI cable and used the Gigajam learning software. This teaches timing, chords, and more about the keyboard than just following lights and thru the MIDI cable it can judge you on your playing.
Now I progressed to using Sean Cheek’s WebPianoTeacher website which is full of excellent tutorials.
You can really make this keyboard shine – I almost always use Voice 74 which is Piano (Sustained) and let me say that playing Pink Floyd’s Great Gig in the Sky while watching the Pulse DVD is a surreal experiance if you really practice as the two keyboards sound the same. I’ve amazed visitors with playing this keyboard so I highly rate it.
The only reason I would replace it is to get longer keyboard with a greater range (of octaves) although you can use the transpose function to shift octaves up and down.

About 12 years ago we bought a similar keyboard to this one for our daughter, by a different company. The lighting keys sold that one to us, so when our son decided to start to learn piano/keyboard in high school we looked for something similar.
    This keyboard is outstanding.
The keys are touch responsive so the output volume alters according to the attack on the keys, there are 3 step learning programs that allow you to learn the right hand and left hand parts separately, the note you press is shown on a stave on the left hand side of the LCD display, when learning a song from the extensive inbuilt song bank the correct fingering is shown on the screen! You can even alter the tempo of these songs with a one touch button (tap tempo) to suit your playing.
We tried this out late at night before wrapping it for his birthday next day, and did not want to stop playing with it. I even texted the neighbours to get them to come see it!
There is midi output to allow a more experienced player to input to a computer, the mapping of the samples is good for general midi, some of the sounds are really well modelled, and there is an extensive sound effects bank that are also responsive to the velocity of keypresses.
Well worth the money, well worth the lack of sleep from not wanting to put it away.
